The Princeton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted its first annual Toast to Tourism on Sept. 15. The event was held in the East Gallery at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton. Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno kicked off the event. Phyllis Oppenheimer was awarded the Salute to Service honor, while other honorees included Sivian Ben-Gad of the Peacock Inn and Larry Ciccione of the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal.

PCMA’s flagship event, Convening Leaders, brought industry professionals from 36 countries to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 6-9 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. “We built this conference around the theme Disrupt + Deliver because that’s what the industry needs and wants,’’ says PCMA President and CEO Sherriff Karamat. “We leave here with a greater commitment and better understanding of how business events can and must drive economic and social progress.’’

Sixty-two guests gathered for the Northeast M+E Best of 2018 readers’ choice awards on Aug. 16 at Upstairs at The Pennsy in New York City. The event’s presenting sponsor was Kalahari Resorts & Conventions; the bar sponsor was Bear Creek Mountain Resort & Conference Center; and the “green” carpet sponsor was Topgolf. Event partners included Acute Inflections, Jamie Rosler from ComedySportz, Drawing Booth, Eclipse Events, Flowerful Events, Pat LaFrieda, The Pennsy Food Hall, Sabi Sushi and Wizard Studios
