    FROM THE Fall 2015 ISSUE

The Lehigh Valley has gone through a transformation, and there is no better place to witness this renaissance than at SteelStacks. This 10-acre property was home to the Bethlehem Steel plant for nearly a century. The plant served as a prosperous economic facility within the area, employing tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians. Before closing its doors in 1995, the Bethlehem plant produced steel for countless structures across the country, including skyscrapers, bridges and arenas like the world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York. Instead of demolishing the plant, individuals and community leaders overcame obstacles and gathered support to transform the property into a cutting-edge, community-focused event area. This forward-thinking vision became SteelStacks, which today serves as a prospering tourist destination in the Northeast region.

The SteelStacks campus is often buzzing with activity; you will be hard-pressed to find an event or activity on the grounds that doesn’t suit the interests of all individuals. The Musikfest Café serves as a multipurpose venue with floor-to-ceiling windows and a fantastic view of the campus. This musicbased venue can host anything from concerts to dining events for over 400 guests. The Fowler Blast Furnace Room & Loft provides a cozier, more intimate feeling. Located in the ArtsQuest Center, the multipurpose facility features high ceilings and seating for over 200 for dining events. For guests looking to relax and unwind, look no further than the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. The two-screen theater offers independent and foreign films for a reasonable price.

Business-focused individuals will want to check out the Lee & Stella Yee Family Connect Zone, a space located within the ArtsQuest Center. The venue boasts high-definition televisions and customizable seating arrangements for presentations or small group meetings. The Capital BlueCross Creativity Commons serves as a perfect pre- or-postmeeting gathering space. For guests looking to enjoy pleasant weather, the Sands Deck is an outdoor venue open May through October. The deck can accommodate up to 60 guests for dining events.

The various unique venues of SteelStacks are sure to satisfy your guests at your next event. Whether the campus is hosting a corporate event or special celebration, SteelStacks remains wildly entertaining while staying true to its historic roots.
