Following a multimillion dollar renovation, Hotel Sanarac on Sanarac Lake will reopen in late 2017, boasting a new ballroom, redesigned guest rooms, Ampersand Salon and Spa and Campfire Adirondack Grill + Bar.

The hotel dates back to the 1920s and celebrates its local heritage as a gathering point for Adirondack adventures like kayaking, hiking and snowshoeing. The Great Hall, inspired by the Davanzati Palace of Florence, features painted beams depicting local scenery including geese, hare and fish.

Following the remodel, Ampersand Salon and Spa's offerings include treatments featuring pine, birch and maple. Campfire Adirondack Grill + Bar boasts a local menu that celebrates the game, fish, produce and beers produced in the Adirondacks. The hotel holds twenty small boutiques as well, selling local artisan goods.

As part of a garden-based educational expansion, The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) has announced the opening of a new “Edible Academy.”

Food trucks may be mobile, but they aren’t going anywhere, since their popularity only seems to grow with each season. A New Jersey hotel is getting in on the fun! Along with over 18,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, Embassy Suites by Hilton in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, offers the Grain & Cane “Gastro Truck” as a fun option for a mid-meeting break or post-event dining option.

The family-focused, Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Lodge opened its first resort in Wisconsin Dells in 1997. Over the next two decades, it slowly expanded with more properties around the Midwest, moving into the Northeast, South, West and Canada. And this summer, the greater Chicago area will get its first resort from the brand.
