Happy Anniversary Harrah’s!

If you’ve been reading anything to do with NJM+E, you know we celebrated our first Best of NJ Readers’ Choice awards in August. We’re still on a high from the great event, but we do realize it’s not all about us! We at New Jersey Meetings + Events wanted to take a moment to give a (virtual) round of applause to Harrah’s. The Atlantic City resort hotel opened their Waterfront Conference Center one year ago in September 2015. Happy anniversary! Have you been to Harrah’s? I attended MPI WEC there this past summer and was impressed with the modern look and feel.

J. Scott Walsh Celebrates Big Milestone

J. Scott Catering has an exciting celebration ahead—the full-service, Philadelphia-based caterer is turning 20 years old!

J. Scott Walsh, founder and president of the company, and a culinary arts graduate of Paul Smith’s College, started his catering career in his parent’s home. Then, in 1996, he opened a brick-and-mortar facility in the Malvern Shopping Center; in 2004, he moved the company to its current, 10,000-square foot location.

Happy Birthday!

New Jersey is celebrating a big birthday this year - 350! Just like individuals or companies that honor an achievement or milestone, the state is indeed celebrating its age with a big event.

Of course, New Jersey knows how to celebrate and it’s not limited to one night; this celebration last all year long! The NJ Historical Commission has framed the year-long celebration with three themes: innovation, diversity and liberty.
