Mural Arts Philadelphia is the nation’s largest public art program. More than 30 years old, it has supported the creation of 4,000 public art pieces that have transformed public spaces and helped the city earn the nickname “City of Murals.” Decorating facades of buildings in neighborhoods throughout the city, the organization even offers mural tours (our own Maureen Hennessey experienced one last year). Now, the organization has announced something new and exciting – a 10-episode radio broadcast starting with a large-scale performance on Independence Mall.
Fairmont Pittsburgh announced its soon-to-be revealed restaurant concept, which will replace Habitat and open in late September.
Jean-Paul Lourdes, executive chef and newest member to the Fairmont Pittsburgh team will lead the restaurant.
“We are very excited to welcome Jean-Paul. His background is immensely impressive and we are fortunate to have his talent to lead the culinary direction of our new restaurant,” says Matthew Sterne, general manager.
The Civil War may be the first thing that comes to one’s mind when thinking of Gettysburg, but a close second should be the food offerings available to the nearly 3.7 million visitors and thousands of meeting and conference attendees each year.
Cvent has created a separate region for Lehigh Valley on their website dedicated to event and meeting planners. The change signals big things for the area.
Prior to being listed as its own area, Lehigh Valley was lumped in the Philadelphia region, resulting in confusion and missed opportunities. The creation will help local properties, business and companies gain a dramatic increase in their exposure to planners.
