Four years after it met in Philadelphia, Lightfair International will again convene at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2017.
Lightfair is the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference; it first met in Philly in 2011. The event’s return signifies the effectiveness of the convention center’s new business model.

Excitingly, the research shows the idea of a center with 125,000 square feet of space, including an exhibit hall, banquet hall and meeting rooms, is highly supported. The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau revealed it will support Meeting Professionals International’s Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate course, working as the title sponsor of the program for one year.
Accredited by Saint Louis University, the program, provides participants with vital information on compliance regulations, laws and techniques for managing healthcare meetings.
The marketing and communications team at the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board in Pennsylvania, received a number of awards in early June.
Dallas-based Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals doled out the awards, dubbed the Hermes Creative Awards, which are given out based on feedback from marketing and communications experts. The 2015 competition yielded 6,000 entries across the globe.

Specifically, these visitors who stayed overnight in the Philadelphia region, increased by 14.2 percent from 2013. Average visitor spend also increased by 10 percent, generating $578 million for the local economy.
