The fourth annual Global Pharmaceutical and Medical Meetings Summit was held in Philadelphia on Feb. 10-12 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. The conference was attended by meeting planners and vendors who specialize in meetings for the medical and pharmaceutical community. Summit attendees networked and attended educational sessions targeted at this specific industry.

Experienced meeting planners know that a venue that evokes a sense of place is far more inspiring than a cookie-cutter space that could exist in any city in the country. The Clay Studio in Philadelphia’s South Kensington neighborhood is a vivid example of the former.

After a nationwide search, the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) has named Sheila Alexander-Reid the executive director of PHL Diversity. A business development division of the PHLCVB, PHL Diversity was created in 1987 and was the first multicultural division of a convention and visitors bureau in the country.
