Sarasota County to See More Hotel Rooms

Sarasota County will see the addition of 1,112 new hotel rooms over the next two years. These new accommodations will largely fall within walking distance of downtown Sarasota and the dining, arts and scenery that it offers.

May has been FOOD BOWL month in Los Angeles, a 31-day festival of curated events produced by the Los Angeles Times to celebrate the city’s dynamic and diverse culinary scene and bring awareness to food waste and hunger through programs with chefs and food-justice activists. Omni Providence Hotel Hires New General Manager

Rhode Island's, Omni Providence Hotel, recently hired Burnell Goldman as general manager. His responsibilities include overseeing all departments of the hotel. Goldman is a 10-year veteran with Omni Hotel & Resorts and comes to Omni Providence Hotel from Omni Jacksonville Hotel in Florida, where he served as general manager since 2013.

 

Florida Chapters Select MPI to Manage Conference

For the next two years, Meeting Professionals International will provide meeting management services for the Southeast Education Conference. MPI is responsible for managing and developing the overall program for the 2017 and 2018 conference, which is hosted by SEC's four Florida chapters – Tampa Bay Area, Greater Orlando, North Florida and South Florida – known as TONS.
