I can’t think of a better way to spend a mid-fall weekend than with a country getaway, and I was lucky enough to escape this past weekend for a quick trip to the Inn at Leola Village. This charming inn took home top prize for Best Inn at our Best of PA Readers Choice event this year, and I decided it was time to see it for myself. Anyone who knows me knows I am a pig fan through and through. Come inside my house, and there are pigs everywhere—on top of my refrigerator, on my walls, and I even have one in my windowsill.
The oppressive heat of the last few weeks has been giving new meaning to “dog days of summer.” It is enough to make you want to stay indoors but with winter coming soon, I can’t bear to stay inside.
BUCKS COUNTY isn’t exactly a tough sell. Its rolling hills, wildflower-filled meadows, quaint small towns and charming bed-and-breakfasts make it a perfect getaway for everyone from couples to corporations.
"Bucks County has so many advantages," says Paul Bencivengo, marketing and communications director for Visit Bucks County. "From its accessibility to both New York and Philadelphia to the bucolic setting to the unique venues, it’s really special."
