• The Hotel Hershey Named 2018 “Best Historic Resort” by Historic Hotels of America

Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide have named The Hotel Hershey “Best Historic Resort.” The Hotel was selected from six nominated properties for the award, which celebrates the historical relevance of the property, positive guest experiences, exceptional customer hospitality and service.

The Hotel Hershey is a one-of-a-kind resort complete with 276 guest rooms and 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space. The 1930s hotel is known for its refined elegance, signature service, and abundant amenities. The hotel also includes a full service spa, majestic formal gardens, fountains, reflecting pools and terraces. The property was opened in 1934 by Milton S. Hershey, founder of Hershey’s Chocolate. The Circular is The Hotel Hershey’s flagship restaurant, which boasts upscale casual cuisine and innovative cocktails.

The hotel honors Hershey’s legacy by creating a unique experience for all guests in Hershey The Sweetest Place On Earth, where guests can enjoy an innovative 18-hole putting course, Segway tours, falconry, more than 5.5 miles of hiking trails, a Cocoa Kids’ Club and more.

The Hotel Hershey is also affiliated with Hersheypark (another historical site in Hershey). Hershey founded the park in 1907 as a picnic and pleasure grounds for his employees, but today it serves as a world-class theme park with 121-acres and more than 70 rides and attractions featuring 14 coasters and more than 20 kiddie rides. As an official resort of Hersheypark, guests of the hotel can enjoy exclusive VIP benefits, including early access to select rides at the park an hour before its opening, free shuttle service and more.

Chocolate touches can also be seen around the hotel to remind guests of the ‘sweet’ origins of Hershey, including a complimentary Hershey’s bar received at check-in, chocolate-scented amenities, and the chocolate martini available throughout the hotel's on-site restaurants. Even the spa is known for its signature chocolate treatments. Guests can also enjoy historic tours of the hotel every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 a.m. 

 

Remote working has become mainstream with the continued presence of COVID-19. While many people have welcomed the new normal of working from home, others miss the separation of spaces, as many corporate offices have remained closed since March. Without the daily obligation to go into the office, professionals have the ability to travel more freely. Hotels across the country are creating “work from hotel” deals–a play on “work from home”–so people can explore new places while still fitting in their 9 to 5.  

 

After several months of renovations, the DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia-Valley Forge is now open as the Alloy – King of Prussia, a DoubleTree by Hilton.

 

Due to COVID-19, non-essential travel was, or has been, banned for months. Long anticipated trips and in-person gatherings were canceled and people have adjusted to the new normal: staying at home and meeting over Zoom. However, states have been slowly lifting restrictions, and non-essential travel will soon be happening across the country again. However, some may not be as comfortable with the thought of traveling as they were before the pandemic.
