Great American Outdoor Show Gave Economic Boost to Harrisburg

As predicted, the 2015 Great American Outdoor Show made a more than $70-million economic impact on the Hershey Harrisburg Region.

This year, the show, which took place Feb. 7–15 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, brought an estimated $73 million to the area—a 4 percent increase from last year.

Renovations Revealed at The Westin Philadelphia

A $10 million renovation has just wrapped up at The Westin Philadelphia.

All 294 guest rooms received facelifts that included new furniture, paint and wall coverings, carpeting and updated décor. Two of the hotel’s dining features—Winthrop & Valentine and The Lobby Bar—underwent major changes giving the spaces a more sophisticated and contemporary feels.

Philly Hotel Open for Business

A new hotel has opened its doors on the Delaware River waterfront.

The Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing is now one of the only hotels located on the waterfront, this providing guests with fantastic views of Philadelphia’s skyline. Only 15 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport, the hotel is mere steps from many dining and entertainment options as well as popular tourist attractions

Philadelphia CVB Crushes Past Convention Bookings

This week, the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau announced they have had the strongest convention booking in more than a decade.

Bookings were especially strong in the second half of 2014, which is likely due to changes in work rules and customer rights that were implemented in May 2014. PHLCVB achieved 91 percent of its 2014 booking goal—or 846,357 room nights—with 79 percent of that business slated to take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center with the rest at regional hotels.  

The Lone Star Court Greeter is a Guest Favorite

He’s handsome, friendly and fit. But that’s not the only thing attracting hotel guests to this particular greeter. He’s furry, too.

Jack, an Australian Shepard that lives at Lone Star Court with General Manager Marcus Latner, spends his days greeting guests, supervising group activities, doing walkthroughs of the property and meeting with business associates.
