• KIMPTON NAMES MATTHEW HURLBURT NEW YORK & PENNSYLVANIA AREA DIRECTOR

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has announced the appointment of Matthew Hurlburt as the new area director of operations for New York and Pennsylvania and the new general manager of Kimpton Muse Hotel in Manhattan. In his new role, Hurlburt will oversee six Kimpton properties in both states—Kimpton Hotel Eventi, Kimpton Ink48 Hotel, Kimpton Muse Hotel, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia and Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh.

As area director of hotel operations for New York and Pennsylvania, Hurlburt will work closely with general managers as well as with the leaders of various departments of each of the hotels. As general manager of Kimpton Muse Hotel in New York City, Hurlburt will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel and its day-to-day operations, including the 181 guest rooms and 19 suites, and dining destination.  Hurlburt will also be overseeing a multimillion-dollar renovation throughout 2019, including a new fitness center and a new bar concept.

A nearly 25-year hospitality industry veteran, Hurlburt joined Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in 2012 as general manager of the Hotel Monaco Alexandria. In 2013 Hurlburt was named Kimpton’s area director of operations for the Mid-Atlantic Region, where he oversaw seven properties in Washington, D.C.

Patrice Martineau has joined Harbor View Hotel in Martha's Vineyard as the executive chef. Martineau will launch two flagship restaurants, Bettini Restaurant and Roxana Bar, with the hotel's reopening on May 1. The restaurants are named after Harbor View Hotel owner Bernard Chiu's daughters, Bettina and Roxana.

 

Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill, along with Distinctive Hospitality Group (DHG), has announced its new executive chef is Edward Tremblay. Tremblay will oversee, train and develop the hotel's culinary team and provide menu guidance for social and corportate events.

 

Global hospitality company BENCHMARK has named Chris Audia the new area director of marketing. Previously an area marketing manager, this will be a promotion within the company for Audia. 

In his new role, Audia will oversee the marketing communications for BENCHMARK's properties in Racine, Wisconsin (Wingspread REtreat & Executive Conference Center), Boothbay Harbor, Maine (Spruce Point Inn) and Roanoke, West Virginia (Stonewall Resort). Audia first started with the company as a marketing manager for Stonewall Resort.
