BENCHMARK Resorts & Hotels announced Virginia's Lansdowne Resort and Spa will be rejoining the hospitality company. The award-winning property is located in Leesburg, 30 miles from Washington D.C. and 15 minutes from Dulles International Airport. The resort joins two sister Virginia properties, Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center and The Inn at Virginia Tech, as part of BENCHMARK Resorts & Hotels.

“We are delighted to expand our presence in Virginia with the return of this celebrated resort,” says Benchmark CEO Alex Cabañas. “Its impressive facilities, recreational options and location in one of America’s most scenic and historically rich areas, will offer the kind of experiential and unique travel, meeting and event opportunities that Benchmark is known to provide in each of our locations.”

Lansdowne Resort & Spa is set on 476 lush acreson the banks of the Potomac River and features 296 newly renovated guest rooms, including 14 suites. There are also four restaurants and bars, 55,000 square feet of meeting and event space, 45 holes of championship golf, water sports, tennis and a 12,000-square-foot spa.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday recommended that all gatherings of more than 50 people be cancelled or postponed for the next eight weeks, in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. The recommendation covers events like parades, concerts, festivals, conferences, sporting events, weddings and more.
