Two love-centered business retreats will be taking place in the Philadelphia area this February.

DillonMarcus, a consulting firm in Cherry Hill, N.J., that created a business curriculum built upon the idea of love, is offering both retreats. The first, taking place Feb. 3 at the Beneficial Bank’s Training Center, is called Unstoppable Selling and will focus on instructing sales people to be missionaries of help.

The second, Creating Loyal, Loving Fans for Life, will be held Feb. 12 at the Citizens Bank Park. This retreat, created in partnership with Tom Burgoyne (known for his portrayal of Philadelphia Phillie’s Phillie Phanatic) will teach attendees to ask the question, “What if your customers loved you the way people love the Phillie Phanatic?” Seven loyalty fundamentals will be shared.

“We visit great companies with our SoundingBoard CEO group and we see the direct correlation that being loving has on business results,” says Evan Marcus, partner, DillonMarcus. “We get such a positive reaction to our programs because most people see the value—the long-term payoff—in doing the right thing.”

Atlantic City

Last year was the highest grossing ever for the United States commercial gaming industry.* Meeting planners who hold gatherings at casinos may just feel like they’ve hit the jackpot, too. Casino-based events provide one-stop convenience—the amenities of convention centers and bountiful hotel rooms, plus activities, dining, and nightlife.

Doreen Guerin grew up an Air Force brat, living in Texas, Louisiana, and later England and France. When she was 13, her parents moved to Queens and, Guerin says, “I’m a New Yorker through and through.” That’s apparent from her accent as well as her dedication to the Javits Center, where, as the senior vice president of sales and marketing, she oversees the booking and event-related operations for more than 170 events each year.
