Ocean County Tourism Still Going Strong

Ocean County’s tourism industry in New Jersey continues to get bigger and bigger. And, according to Joseph H. Vicari, freeholder and chairman, Department of Business Development and Tourism, there’s nowhere to go but up.

 “Tourism is a $4.3 billion industry in Ocean County, but by the end of this year I’m predicting it will be at $4.4 billion,” he says. “Every dollar that tourism brings into the county circulates seven times, providing jobs, paying taxes and strengthening our local economy.”

Atlantic City Resort Adds Options for Planners

Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel is taking all-inclusive to a whole new level by applying it to group meetings.

The hotel—the first casino to open in Atlantic City and managed by Mohegan Gaming Advisors—is offering customized group packages that start at $199 per person, per night and inclue upgraded guest rooms, morning and afternoon coffee breaks, WiFi, three meals a day and more.

Gettysburg Tops Best Historical Spots List

TripAdvisor has placed Gettysburg, Pa., at the top of the website’s list, Historical Family Vacation Spots You can Afford.

The world’s largest travel website, TripAdvisor identified nine of America’s most historically prominent destination spots and pulled their vacation rental review scores. They also calculated average prices and how that compares to hotels.

Visit Bucks County Awards $219,000

In May, Visit Bucks County revealed the recipients of the tourism office's Spring 2015 Tourism Grant program; thirty-one nonprofit tourism organizations together will receive $219,000.

The program, implemented seven years ago to help with the development and enhancement of nonprofit tourism, has distributed more than $2.3 million since its inception.

The funding will be used for website redesigns, enhancements, marketing collateral, capital improvements, tourism product development and more.
