Philadelphia’s MaKen Studios is booming with affordable rentable space and resources catered to interdisciplinary artists, social enterprises and manufacturers. Consisting of two fully rehabilitated factory buildings with an artisan industrial feel, MaKen North and MaKen South, MaKen Studios can accommodate a multitude of businesses. MaKen North tenants include visual artists, craftspeople, fashion brands, social enterprises and nonprofits such as Cheyenne Gil and Dana Falsetti, Amber Art and Design, Witty Gritty and Project Basho. MaKen South tenants are larger office users and manufacturers such as Resources for Human Development, Felt + Fat, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, Snap Kitchen and Rethink Staffing.

MaKen Studios can also accommodate a variety of special events through FAME, “the only industrial-chic Philadelphia venue with a skyline view of Center City,” says Brian Murray, founder and CEO of Shift Capital, the real estate firm behind MaKen Studios. “Made up of 9,000 square feet of customizable event space, FAME is designed to accommodate up to 500 people. Shift Capital proposed a collaboration with Feast Your Eyes Catering, who already owns and operates Front & Palmer, for the FAME space.”
