Bubbles and Plant-Based Cuisine in Venice, Courtesy of Matthew Kenney & Moët

May has been FOOD BOWL month in Los Angeles, a 31-day festival of curated events produced by the Los Angeles Times to celebrate the city’s dynamic and diverse culinary scene and bring awareness to food waste and hunger through programs with chefs and food-justice activists. The charity partners include No Kid Hungry, PATH & Food Forward.

Dining al Fresco

The warm weather and soft breezes are finally here! We spent a lot of time indoors this winter so when the sun is out and the temperatures are north of 60, I am ready to dine outside. I recently dined at Lilly’s on the Canal in Lambertville. It’s a terrific spot smack dab in the center of town. The building is tucked behind the main street and resembles a French chateau. Of course, the first thing you notice when you walk inside is the glass display of scrumptious-looking cakes. Lilly’s also does catering and take-out. Cake aside, the best seats in the house are definitely in the back.
