Marilyn Sukonick-Zeff’s story starts in a Barnes & Noble. On a whim, many moons ago—as she says—she took her two children for story hour at the national bookstore and noticed there would be a tarot card reader coming in to promote selling the cards. The experience intrigued her so much she asked for a private reading with the woman on a different date.
Red Pedal Tours in Philadelphia is now offering a brand-new tour for foodies. We profiled Red Pedal Tours in our Spring 2014 issue when they had just hit the streets with their bright red pedicycle, and we are thrilled they are growing in popularity. The pedicycle is powered by you—there are 12 seats lining two sides of the cycle, with a bench in the back for three non-cyclers to enjoy the ride. Their history tours are a fun and active way to experience the city’s history in a new way.
A sneak peek of the venue spaces at the Museum of the American Revolution, which will open on April 19, was celebrated on Jan. 19 in Philadelphia. Amazing Escape Room is a live-action game that tests your team-building skills with a challenging twist. There are a handful of locations around the state: Cherry Hill, Freehold, Princeton, Montclair, Paramus, Greenbrook and Red Bank. Before starting, the room has a set time limit of 60 minutes in order to make it more challenging. In addition, there are different “level” rooms based on skill. For example, the hardest rooms have an under 10 percent success rate while the easier rooms have a 20 percent success rate.
Visualizing success is a powerful way to achieve it. Before guests’ jaws drop upon entering a whimsically decorated gala, and before they walk away buzzing about an engaging meeting, that unforgettable event first unfolds in the mind of a planner. But planning for perfection also means giving thought to the emergencies we don’t want to imagine, and to the disruptions that are unforeseeable.
Great Wolf Lodge isn’t just for the little ones. Their conference centers also offer entertaining team-building adventures. Available at the Pocono Mountains property, The Howlers Peak Ropes Course allows teams to venture through an aerial circuit from the safety of a climbing harness. Members can cheer each other on as they cross bridges, balance on ropes and climb through obstacles.
