Philadelphia

A color-blocking tablescape adds depth and texture

In the 90s, low rents and large industrial spaces in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties, once the city’s manufacturing district, began luring artists and entrepreneurs. This influx of fresh new ideas and business created an eclectic and progressive atmosphere that continues to foster creativity and expression today.

It is here, on the eastern edge of the district and bordering the Delaware River, that Beautiful Blooms designed a mid-day event for a large innovative software firm.

The Inspiration

See the city a new way with Philly Brew Tours

Guides who know almost everything there is to know about Philadelphia and its breweries are waiting to show you a new side of the city. Philly Brew Tours, the first brewery tour in the city, provides a personal touch for groups from 10 to 200 people. The original tour lasts for five hours around lunch or dinner, with a stop for a bite built into the day. A guide, who has gone through hours of training and can answer almost any question you ask, takes you to working breweries.

The Logan Wows in a Landmark Location

The Logan may be one of Philadelphia’s newest hotels, but its Logan Square address certainly isn’t. This sleek and stylish hotel occupies the former Four Seasons, but with a seven-month-long top-to-bottom renovation, there’s nothing old school about it. “The Logan offers a mix of sophistication and modern luxury,” says Sandra Heydt, director of sales and marketing. “It’s slightly irreverent and avant-garde, mixing traditional with contemporary. It’s very visually interesting.”

Philly Has Record Year

Just in time for the new year, Center City Philadelphia is right on track to end 2015 with a record hotel occupancy.

Record Hotel Occupancy: 77.4%:

Center City Philadelphia’s hotel occupancy is estimated to hit a record 77.4 percent in up from 75.5 percent in 2014. Visitors to Philadelphia from all segments (leisure, group, business) will have filled a projected 3.1 million rooms—another record.

Leisure Is One Of Three Major Segments:

Meet Daniel Love, Catering by Design

Daniel Love thinks of every event as a stage production—it should always leave you wanting more. That’s the philosophy he brings to his Philadelphia-based full-service catering company, Catering By Design (CBD). “Every event, every catering job is a theatrical experience as well as a culinary experience; all engage your senses like theater,” says Love.
