Call for PAMPI Award Nominations

It’s that time of the year. The Philadelphia Area Chapter of Meetings Professionals International is asking for nominations for their five separate Chapter Awards. They include:

New Team Member for PHLCVB

Martha Falcon has been hired as executive director of marketing and communications for the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“Martha’s extensive background in destination marketing brings a new perspective to our organization, and she is a vibrant addition to our team,” says Jack Ferguson, president and CEO, PHLCVB. “We will draw upon her experience, creativity and demonstrated knowledge of our industry to continue the momentum of the PHLCVB marketing efforts, bringing even more conventions and visitors to the city we love.”

Based off of Philly attractions that received press coverage earlier this year, Visit Philadelphia has created a new itinerary for visitors and residents alike.

New Hire for PHLCVB

The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau has hired Walden Agustin Sr. as senior national accounts director.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Walden to the PHLCVB sales team,” says Jack Ferguson, president and CEO, PHLCVB.  “His experience will be a tremendous asset in promoting Philadelphia as one of the country’s top meeting destinations and booking additional room nights in our region’s hotels.”

Renovations Revealed at The Westin Philadelphia

A $10 million renovation has just wrapped up at The Westin Philadelphia.

All 294 guest rooms received facelifts that included new furniture, paint and wall coverings, carpeting and updated décor. Two of the hotel’s dining features—Winthrop & Valentine and The Lobby Bar—underwent major changes giving the spaces a more sophisticated and contemporary feels.
