The Ritz-Carlton Debuts New Look

The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia recently completed a $25 million hotel renewal project. This landmark hotel is inextricably tied to Philadelphia’s past, but the thoughtful restoration modernized it without stripping the storied past. The Ritz-Carlton was originally built as The Girard Trust Company and was completed in 1908. It was designed as a reproduction of the Pantheon in Rome, and the Neoclassical-style structure features 9,000 tons of Georgia marble!

Don’t Just Eat Local; Drink Local Too

Are you looking for a fun way to incorporate local flavor into your next event? Check out some of the local New Jersey wines. Located in Hightstown in central New Jersey, Working Dog winery has some of the best bottles in the state. In fact, in a blind taste test, Working Dog wines beat some of the top European competitors. Read that again: A New Jersey winery is producing wines that best the European ones! It’s a fun talking point and ice breaker for groups to do a wine tasting. Eating local foods is a much-talked-about trend, but drinking locally is quickly catching up.

As the mother of a son with developmental disabilities, Karen Monroy knew that Zachary’s options for employment were limited once he graduated from high school. She began thinking about what kids with autism and other developmental disabilities enjoyed, and cooking came to mind.

Study Hotels Opens in University City

Study Hotels has opened its second location in the heart of University City. The hotel is located at the crossroads of Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania.

The 10-story hotel, owned and developed by New York-based developer Hospitality 3, features 212 guest rooms. It also includes features such an innovative Study living room, fitness center and an active art gallery that showcases local artists and student work on a rotating basis.
