In 2014, Philadelphia saw a substantial uptick in the amount of time overseas travelers stayed in the city.
Specifically, these visitors who stayed overnight in the Philadelphia region, increased by 14.2 percent from 2013. Average visitor spend also increased by 10 percent, generating $578 million for the local economy.
Last week, Visit Philadelphia released their annual report that confirmed what those in Philly already knew—travel and tourism make a huge economic impact on the city.
At VisitPITTSBURGH’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, elected officials and senior staff celebrated the many accolades and achievements the city has had over the past year.
