Ross Fatemi was recently appointed the new director of sales & marketing of Arthouse.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?

I am most excited about building out our hotel’s events culture. We’ve created branded literature and banqueting partnerships for private dining and corporate meeting sales. The team is looking forward to ramping Arthouse up as an Upper West Side destination for unique gatherings and conferences.

2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?

I am able to champion building ballroom sales from the ground-up at Arthouse, as I’ve been a Director of Catering & Convention Services within numerous luxury properties.

3. How did you get into the industry?

I started 17 years ago in the rooms division as a Front Desk Agent at a large luxury beach resort in San Diego, CA. A summer job yielded a promotion to Reservations Supervisor, and fostered a passion about learning the facets of hotels, eventually turning into a career.

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

My paramount passions are twofold: 1) building out successful and thriving teams where individuals can reach their professional potential, and 2) driving top-line revenues to our ownership.

5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?

Providing tutelage and mentorship to my direct reports. I enjoy sharing knowledge and experience to groom my team to take the next steps in their journey. A hotel is many businesses under one roof, so identifying ambitious talent to cross-develop into different disciplines both strengthens the core of the hotel, and boosts efficiencies for employees and guests alike.
