• The Ritz-Carlton Debuts New Look

The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia recently completed a $25 million hotel renewal project. This landmark hotel is inextricably tied to Philadelphia’s past, but the thoughtful restoration modernized it without stripping the storied past. The Ritz-Carlton was originally built as The Girard Trust Company and was completed in 1908. It was designed as a reproduction of the Pantheon in Rome, and the Neoclassical-style structure features 9,000 tons of Georgia marble!

Some design influences include the building’s banking history, as the rich colors of precious metals and currency have been woven into the design palette used throughout the hotel.

The Avenue of the Arts location also inspired design upgrades. There is an extensive art collection that celebrates the Avenue’s cultural prominence as the art, music, theatre center of Philadelphia.

The updates to the iconic Philadelphia landmark include all new guest rooms and suites, Club Lounge, meeting and event space, and a refreshed lobby experience with a new restaurant, bar and lounge, Aqimero. This restaurant from famed Richard Sandoval opened in the summer of 2016. The 206-seat restaurant located in the lobby features all-day dining and has a wood-burning grill and a small plates menu focused on sustainable seafood, steaks, ribs and poultry. Ritzcarlton.com
