On Nov. 16, I had the pleasure of engaging with Temple and Drexel Hospitality and Tourism students in an information filled speed networking hour, aptly named Backpacks to Briefcases with 20 other fellow MPI PHL members.
Furthering and sustaining the hospitality industry is dependent on the students working to get into the field today. Without them, the future is shaky.
To help these students gain the education they need to truly succeed, the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association and Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Foundation created a partnership to award scholarships for education in the hospitality industry and promote its value.
Chef hats off to local Cherry Hill, N.J., student for flexing his cooking chops for a good cause.
Specifically, Daniel Marcus, an elementary school student, has entered Uncle Ben’s Brand Ben’s Beginners Cooking Contest—a contest through the rice product company’s national program that encourages children to start cooking at an early age to help them make healthier choices.
