SportsEvents Media Group has named the Wildwoods Convention Center  as a 2015 Readers’ Choice Award winner for Top Venue in New Jersey. The media group publishes SportsEvents Magazine, a publication that focuses on helping sports event planners.

Readers nominated destinations and sports venues that, in their opinion, displayed exemplary creativity, hospitality and professionalism. Nominations were collected throughout the year, and top picks were selected based on results from an online voting system.

The Wildwoods Boardwalk Basketball Classic was also named to the magazine’s list as a Sports Event to Watch in 2015.

“We are thrilled to be named a winner of two SportsEvents Magazine’s Readers Chice Awards and grateful to be recognized for the hard work and dedication of our convention center staff, along with all of our supporting partners, who have helped make the Wildwoods Convention Center a premier sports destination venue,” says John Siciliano, executive director, Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority.

Atlantic City

Last year was the highest grossing ever for the United States commercial gaming industry.* Meeting planners who hold gatherings at casinos may just feel like they’ve hit the jackpot, too. Casino-based events provide one-stop convenience—the amenities of convention centers and bountiful hotel rooms, plus activities, dining, and nightlife.

Doreen Guerin grew up an Air Force brat, living in Texas, Louisiana, and later England and France. When she was 13, her parents moved to Queens and, Guerin says, “I’m a New Yorker through and through.” That’s apparent from her accent as well as her dedication to the Javits Center, where, as the senior vice president of sales and marketing, she oversees the booking and event-related operations for more than 170 events each year.
